If you are anything like me, fishing isn't just a hobby. It is a passion. Historical records show that fishing for sport goes as far back as man. Even when they relied on the catch for survival there were still times it was done for entertainment. That passionate feeling is still present in millions of outdootsmen today. The advantage we today have though, is the technology insights that are available to us. Tempature guages, electric scales and portable fish finders.
The unit that makes the sport even more enthralling for us is the portable fish finder. A portable fish finder is no different than a permanently mounted unit with the exception of the transducer and power supply. Shore restricted anglers now get to have the same luxuries as boaters by using a smaller battery and a transducer on a float. It is not that uncommon to see anglers also attach a float to their screen just in case they were to drop it.
